All sections will get benefit from the available data of caste census, speed of development will get wings: Tejashwi
Patna (IANS). After the decision of the Patna High Court, once again the work of caste enumeration started in Bihar from Wednesday. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the data available from the caste census will benefit all sections and speed up development.
He said that ever since the voice was being raised for getting the caste census done, since then some political parties and casteist people were engaged in propaganda against it. They started propagating that it was in the interest of the weaker sections only. Whereas, the reality is just the opposite that it is equally in the interest of all people of all classes.
He said that many people opposed the caste-based census and also said that collecting caste data would divide the society. He said that from the very beginning in India there was division and classification of occupations and importance of people in society on the basis of caste and varna. In this way, the economic condition of a particular person was affected by his caste.
Tejashwi posted on social media on Wednesday and further said that the economic condition of the people of a particular caste also remained more or less the same, that is why some classes together slowly went backward. If there has been economic and social backwardness and inequality in some people due to caste, then the causes of this problem can be collected, researched and diagnosed only on the basis of scientific statistics of caste.
He said that every country, government, organization or institution collects all kinds of data and based on that data makes effective plans and takes decisions. The RJD leader said that all sections will get the benefit of the available data as these data will give wings to the pace of development.
