Allegations of connection with terrorist organization, NIA interrogated the youth

Yadgir: National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Thursday interrogated a youth and his family in Shahpur town of Karnataka’s Yadgir district on allegations of links with terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).

Sources said a team headed by Sachidanand Sharma interrogated Khalid Ahmed, 22, a resident of Shahpura, and his family members. Ahmed is suspected to have links with suspected IS terrorist Fayyaz as they “connected” on Instagram. Faiyaz was caught in Ranchi.

The NIA team raided Ahmed’s residence in the morning and interrogated the suspect for more than four hours. NIA officials have asked Ahmed to appear in Ranchi for questioning on September 20. Sources said officials have seized his two mobile phones.
