Ambaji assured residents that will reconstruct demolished structures
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Thursday assured the people of Ambhaji that their structures and compound walls demolished to facilitate road extension works in view of Prime Minister’s visit will be
reconstructed.Sardesai said that people of Fatorda were cooperating by permitting part of their compound walls and other minor structures to be demolished. “However, they wanted assurance from the authorities that whatever is demolished will be reconstructed or restored after the PM’s visit, which I have given them,” he said after touring the areas to assure the residents.
At least a portion of four to five different compound walls would be demolished, besides a front part of a residence to make a broad way for the PM to visit the KTC bus stand. Reliable sources said that the PM is likely to take the shortest route from the Fatorda stadium to the KTC bus stand. “The PM comes to Fatorda because the constituency has one of the best infrastructure unlike Margao which is crumbling with dilapidated buildings and has no space for organising huge meetings,’’ said Sardesai on Thursday after visiting the KTC bus stand and Ambhaji areas along with the district additional collector and senior PWD engineers to oversee the road extension works.
Sardesai explained how the KTC bus stand was neglected for the last many years. “This bus stand was looking like a cow shed. Now that the PM’s meeting is scheduled, the areas are given a facelift.I want the PM to visit Fatorda again and again so that Fatorda keeps developing”, he said. Sardesai also visited the temporary KTC bus stand site near the Fatorda stadium and asked the KTC depot manager to contain the dust pollution by spraying water
