Ambulances were not given way in the state
Shimla. The transport department will also keep an eye on vehicles that do not give way to ambulances taking patients to the hospital on the road. The transport department will tighten its grip on those who do not give way to ambulances despite there being access on the road. According to a study by the department, it has been observed that during the tourist season and other big events in other cities and districts, ambulances taking patients to hospitals across the state including the capital Shimla are unable to find passage on the road.
Some drivers do not give way to ambulances despite having space. In such a situation, there is a delay in the ambulance reaching the hospital, due to which the life of the patient is also in danger.
In such a situation, the department has appealed to the vehicle drivers, taxi drivers, bus and truck drivers of the state in the primary phase that in view of humanity, they should give priority to the ambulance carrying the patient by road or the ambulance going to pick the patient. Give, so that the patient can reach the hospital on time. If the department finds that the ambulance has not been deliberately given way on the road, then the department can also take legal action against the driver.
Anupam Kashyap, Director of Transport Department, says that it is often seen that whether it is a festive season or a tourist season, the movement of vehicles on the road increases, but in the meanwhile, the biggest problem is faced by the ambulances going to the hospital, which carry patients. They are going to the hospital and some drivers do not give way to the ambulance despite having space. In such a situation, there is an appeal to the drivers to give way to the ambulance on priority, so that the patient can reach the hospital on time. If the drivers do not do so, the department will also take strict action.
