Amount up to Rs 5 lakh can be spent without e-tendering

Chandigarh. Haryana’s Development and Panchayat Department has given another big power to Gram Panchayats. Gram Panchayats can get development work costing up to Rs 5 lakh done on the basis of quotation.

E-tendering is mandatory for works with budget above this. Now the government has decided that the Panchayats which have their own funds available.

Will be able to spend 50 percent of that money on development works. Development and Panchayat Minister Devendra Singh Babli gave this information in the House.

He said that if there are development works costing more than fifty percent, then e-tendering process will have to be adopted for them. Independent MLA from Prithla Nayanpal Rawat raised this question in the House.
