Andhra: Commercial tax staff extends support to Ahmed Babu
Vijayawada: A section of the employees from the commercial tax department called on chief secretary Sai Prasad on Wednesday and reaffirmed their support to the chief commissioner of state taxes in the commercial tax department, Ahmad Babu.
Certain issues had cropped up recently against the chief commissioner.
The employees’ delegation claimed the CS that Ahmad Babu after assuming charge in the department effected promotions to the employees in several cadres and introduced high-end technology like AI and Data Analytics to enhance tax collections.
They alleged that some employees and officials were trying to bring disrepute to the department. Those who met the CS included, among others, the commercial tax gazetted officers union president Nirmala Jyothi.
Meanwhile, a section of the employees in the department continued their agitation during the lunch break.
