School Education Department and Medical and Health Department will jointly work for awareness of students on ‘No Bag Day’ in government schools of the state. Under this, a 60-day ‘Tobacco and Drug Free Youth Campaign’ will be run incorporating the activities of the National Health Mission (NHM) run under the Education Department and Medical and Health Department in the state. In this connection, under the joint aegis of Education Department and NHM, the training of ‘Key Resource Person’ started in Bahamakumaris, Abu Road on Saturday, which was inaugurated by Mr. Naveen Jain, Government Secretary, School Education Department through VC from Jaipur.
The Secretary of Government said that under this campaign, students will be motivated not only to monitor anti-tobacco activities not only in their own school premises but also in their surrounding areas, so that children stay away from this bad addiction since childhood. . He informed that under the declaration of the state government to take effective steps to prevent drug addiction among the youth in the public manifesto, Tobacco Free Youth Campaign has been launched in the state on World No Tobacco Day, under which all educational institutions in the state Work is being done to make it tobacco free. He told that in this campaign, the in-charge of educational institutions and teachers will be given the responsibility of keeping the school premises completely tobacco free. At the same time, the rules of prohibition of any kind of tobacco products, be it smoking or chewing tobacco products, will be fully followed in the school. He told that even after this special campaign, the School Education Department will continue anti-tobacco activities in the schools.
In the 60-day ‘Tobacco and Drug Free Youth Campaign’ in the state, for tobacco-free educational institutions, boards of ‘tobacco-free campus’ at prominent places in the campus, signage on the entrance and boundary wall, posters regarding the harmful effects of tobacco and Display of other awareness materials, organizing at least one activity related to tobacco control in 6 months, displaying the name, designation and contact details of tobacco monitors of schools on board and the rule of not using tobacco, included in the code of conduct of the educational institution Awareness activities like doing will also be conducted.
