Army Chief Manoj Pandey discussed ways to boost military relations between the two countries
New Delhi: Army Chief General Manoj Pandey on Monday welcomed Tanzania People’s Defense Force chief General John Makunda and discussed ways to further strengthen the existing military ties between the two defense forces.
The two officials held talks and discussed aspects related to bilateral defense cooperation.
Sharing on its social media handle, Additional Directorate General of Public Information of the Indian Army said, “General Manoj Pandey #COAS welcomed General John Makunda, #CDF, #Tanzania and had an engaging interaction with him. “Aspects related to bilateral defense cooperation and ways to further strengthen the existing military ties between the two defense forces were discussed.”
Earlier today, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan held talks with General Jacob John Mukunda of Tanzania, along with Commander of Land Forces and Naval Forces Command, Tanzania People’s Defense Forces.
During their meeting, several aspects including a comprehensive roadmap and defense equipment and technology cooperation were discussed.
“In their meeting, a comprehensive roadmap ranging from defense cooperation, maritime cooperation, defense equipment and technology cooperation and structured training support was discussed while reaffirming the strong ties,” defense officials said.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India-Tanzania relations are marked by long-term friendship and closeness, vibrant economic ties between our businesses, comprehensive and solid development partnerships and historic people-to-people ties built on age-old commercial exchanges.
