As President of Maldives, Foreign Minister Jaishankar hoisted the tricolor at his residence

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar hoisted the tricolor at his residence on Friday as the country was immersed in Republic Day celebrations. In a post on Twitter, Jaishankar said, “Hoisted the tricolor at his residence this morning on our 75th Republic Day. Fully committed to building a developed India in our Amritkaal.” The country is celebrating its 75th Republic Day this year, which marks the adoption of the Constitution and attainment of sovereignty on January 26, 1950. As India celebrated its 75th Republic Day, many world leaders wished the country.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed confidence in the strength of bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields and wished India on Republic Day. Taking the x, Nepal PMO posted, “On the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, I wish PM Shri @NarendraModi Ji, Government and friendly people of India good health, peace and prosperity. He recalled the age-old friendship between the two countries built on “mutual respect and a deep sense of kinship”. “President Mohammad Muizzu sends greetings and felicitations to the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of India on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day of India. In separate messages to President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Muizzu extended greetings and warm wishes to them on the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, the Office of the President of Maldives said in a statement.

President Muizzu also expressed hope for continued peace, progress and prosperity for the Government and people of India in the years to come. “President Muizzu, on behalf of the Government and people of Maldives, extended good wishes to the Government and people of India. He emphasized the centuries-old friendship, mutual respect and deep sense of kinship between Maldives and India. The President expressed hope for continued peace, progress and prosperity for the Government and people of India in the years to come.” Maldives Foreign Minister Musa Zameer also extended greetings to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and the people of India on the 75th Republic Day. Posting on X, Zameer wrote, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar and the friendly people of India on the joyous occasion of 75th Republic Day of India. I am confident that the close ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will continue to flourish in the years to come.” Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu led the Republic Day celebrations by hoisting the national flag on the duty path on Friday.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed President Murmu on his arrival on the path of duty. Along with this, the national anthem was played and the President was given a 21-gun salute. In keeping with tradition, the tricolor was hoisted followed by the playing of the national anthem. As the national anthem ended, the atmosphere echoed with the thunder of indigenous 105-mm Indian field guns during a 21-gun salute. President Murmu and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who is the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations, were provided security by the President’s bodyguard – the ‘President’s Bodyguard’.
