Hanumanganj: Three innocent children including the bride’s cousin mother-in-law were injured in the celebratory firing done to celebrate the bride’s arrival at Chakmujammil village of Saraiinayat police station area in Hanumanganj, Prayagraj on Saturday. Late night the police registered a case based on the groom’s complaint. The marriage procession of Shiv Prakash alias Pintu, son of Gulabchand Bharatiya, resident of Chakmuzammil Majra village of Muntjipur Gram Sabha, had gone to Belha village of Handia on Friday. When the wedding procession returned home on Saturday afternoon, women and children started dancing and singing to celebrate the arrival of the bride.
Meanwhile, Prakash Saroj, resident of Sohbatiyabagh, a relative of Gulabchand, started firing harshly with his licensed double barrel gun. According to eyewitnesses, the second bullet missed while firing. As Prakash opened the barrel of the gun to check for misfire, a bullet was fired. There was an outcry. The moment of happiness turned into mourning. In the harsh firing, Sushma Devi (42), wife of Gulabchand’s younger brother Premchand, daughter of his elder brother Yadunath, along with two grandsons Rakshit (11), Golu (9), son Lalit and Gulabchand’s brother-in-law Rakesh, resident of Mohammadabad village of Uttaraon, who came from Gurgaon, were killed. Saroj’s son Vivek (11) was injured.
The family members hurriedly took all the injured to a private doctor in Fatuhan. The doctor sent him to Swarooprani Hospital after first aid. Police reached the information and after investigating the incident arrested the main accused Prakash Saroj. Police station in-charge Abhishek Singh said that the accused Prakash is a technical carpenter in Saroj Fort. DCP Ganganagar, Abhishek Bharti said that three children including a woman injured in the Harsh firing are undergoing treatment at Swarooprani Hospital. Everyone is out of danger. Accused Prakash Saroj has been detained. After receiving the complaint, further action is being taken.
