Ashok Leyland donates Rs 3 crore for cyclone relief work in Tamil Nadu
New Delhi: Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Saturday said it has donated Rs 3 crore to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for relief work and assistance in the Cyclone Michong-hit state.
The contribution is aimed at assisting the state government in its efforts to address the impact of the cyclone on the people of Tamil Nadu, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
“We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the cyclonic storm and incessant rains, which has affected the lives of many people in Chennai and surrounding districts,” Ashok Leyland Managing Director and CEO Shenu Agarwal said.
He further said, “Although the cyclone has left a trail of destruction, it is heartening to see the prompt response displayed by the Government of Tamil Nadu in managing the difficult situation and ensuring necessary relief measures.”
