Asifabad: Tiger seen again near irrigation tank
Asifabad: The tiger continued to roam near the irrigation tank in Kondapalli village of Penchikalpet mandal for the second day on Tuesday. Penchikalpet FRO Anil said that the tiger was roaming in the forests of Kondapalli for the last few weeks. He said that the movement of the tiger is being monitored with the help of animal tracker. Two teams have been formed to chase the tiger. Locals have also been alerted about the presence of the tiger. Forest officials have advised the villagers to be vigilant and avoid sudden confrontation with the tiger. They have urged farmers not to install electrified fences to prevent damage to crops by wild animals. However, farmers have raised concerns about their safety after the tiger activity. They said that they have stopped harvesting cotton crop and many other agricultural activities due to fear of tiger attack. Pasula Nirmala of the same village was killed by a tiger in 2020.
