Assam Bhawan in Delhi expanded by 4000 square meters
New Delhi: In a significant development, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved the allotment of 4000 square meter land for the construction of a new Assam Bhawan in Dwarka area. This expansion marks a significant increase from the originally sanctioned 1000 square metres, highlighting the growing importance of the project in meeting the needs of the Assamese people in the capital city.
Ranjit Kumar Das, Assam Cabinet Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, General Administration and Law and Justice departments, excitedly shared the news through his social media platforms. Expressing his excitement he said, “A new beginning in the heart of Delhi! Delhi Development Authority has allotted 4000 square meters of prime land to the Government of Assam in Dwarka for a new Assam Building. Emphasizing the important role of the new Assam Sadan, Chief Minister Sarma said, “The new Assam Sadan will cater to the needs of patients and students while the other two will be used by officials.”

A large number of patients from Assam regularly travel to Delhi for treatment of various diseases. Additionally, a significant group of students from Assam come to the national capital to pursue their educational aspirations.
