Assault of delivery boy by forcibly demanding money, 2 robbers arrested
Raigarh: Recently, the delivery boy had gone to deliver the goods of the customers purchased from the shopping site Amazon near Baoli Kuan Shitala Temple under the Kotwali police station area, due to which some youth of the locality forcibly demanded money and quarreled with him, taking away ₹ 1500 in cash and his parcel from his pocket. They snatched 3 packets (2 mobile packets + 1 shoe packet) of customers’ purchased goods kept in the bag and drove them away from the locality, threatening to beat up the delivery boy.
Regarding the incident, the victim delivery boy Prabhat Patel (21 years), resident of Madhuban Modipara Raigarh, gave a written application on 2 November 2023 in the police station Kotwali Raigarh, saying that on the afternoon of 02 November, 3-4 boys forcibly demanded money near Baoli Kuan Shitala Temple. They started breaking the visor of the motorcycle and when they refused, they started abusing and assaulting each other and ran away after looting ₹ 1500 in cash from his pocket and 3 packets of customers’ purchased goods kept in his parcel bag. On the basis of the victim’s report, a crime of assault and robbery was registered against the accused in the police station and taken up for investigation.
Taking seriously the incident that occurred during the current code of conduct in effect, police station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Shanip Ratre, on the guidance of senior officers, immediately deployed his staff to trace the accused, the police raided the Sakunat Baoli well of the accused, and arrested the accused. Information was received about his absconding from the locality.
An informer was planted by the Kotwali police in relation to the accused. Today, on the basis of informer’s information, the accused Sonu Sidar, who was involved in the robbery incident, was caught by the Kotwali police near Dashrath Paan Thela Kotra Road, who along with his associate Tarang Sendaria and others accepted the commission of the incident. . On the information received from accused Sonu Sidar, a raid was conducted on the premises of other accused in which accused Tarang Sendaria was arrested. Both the accused told that on the date of the incident, they would divide the ₹ 1500 they had looted from the delivery boy among themselves. ₹700 each in cash and a piece of brick used in the incident as evidence have been seized from the possession of the accused. If the number of accused is more than 5, Section 394 has been removed and Section 395 has been added to the case. Both the accused in the case – (1) Sudhir Sidar alias Sonu Sidar, father Ishwar Sidar, age 26 years, resident of Kotra Road, Baoli well, near Shitala Mandir, police station city, Kotwali Raigarh (2) Tarang Sendaria, father Rajesh Sendaria, age 20 years, resident of Telanpali, in front of BSNL Club, Brijraj Nagar. Police station Brijraj Nagar district Jharsuguda (Orissa) has been sent on judicial remand for arrestees involved in non-bailable, serious crimes. Police station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Shanip Ratre, Sub Inspector Dinesh Bohidar, Head Constable Hemant Patre, Constable Jagmohan Ogre, Uttam Sarathi, Bhagwati Prasad Ratnakar, Ghanshyam Bareth, Kamlesh Sagar, Kirti Singh Rajput have played an important role in locating and arresting the accused.
