Assistant Professors got big relief from CG High Court

Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered to form a committee within a month for the grant of grade-pay to 168 assistant professors of the state and to pay the salary within three months. chhattisgarh news 168 assistant professors posted in government colleges of the state had filed a petition in the High Court. It was told in this that they were appointed in the year 2012. According to the rules of the Higher Education Department, they were to be given academic grade-pay, but the petitioners are not being given grade-pay. Assistant professors had filed 17 separate petitions regarding this.
While hearing the case, the single bench of Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas ordered the Secretary of the Higher Education Department that if a committee has not been formed in the case of the petitioners, then form a committee within a month. This committee will find out the eligibility criteria of the petitioners individually for grade-pay. If the service period and educational qualification of the petitioners are found eligible for grant of grade-pay, then they will be paid from the date on which they are eligible. The court also ordered that the proceedings be completed within three months and grade-pay be determined.
