Assistant teachers will return to duty, strike postponed
Raipur: Assistant teachers of Chhattisgarh have postponed the strike. The union has postponed the strike after a meeting with the officials of the education department. Manish Mishra, president of the Assistant Teachers Association, told that talks have been held with Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary, Education Department. He has assured that he will meet the Chief Minister within two days. The Principal Secretary said that I have spoken to the Chief Minister for this. On the basis of this assurance, we have postponed the strike.
Manish Mishra, president of Assistant Teachers Association, further said that if the assurance is not fulfilled within two days, then we will go on strike again from 6th. The strike is not over, it has been postponed only on the basis of assurance.
Let us tell you that the indefinite strike of assistant teachers is going on for the last 12 days. Assistant teachers had mobilized to remove the demand for pay discrepancy. 1,80,000 teachers across the state boycotted the school. During this, the department had also issued a notice. Divisional commissioners were instructed to take action if they did not return from the strike.
