At least five people, including a child, were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Khurda
Begunia: At least five people, including a child, were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Odisha’s Khurda district. The incident took place in front of Begunia police station of the district. According to sources, the bus was going from Phulbani to Bhubaneswar at the time of the accident. On receiving information, police reached the spot and took the injured to the nearest hospital. Police has started the investigation of the matter. A more detailed report related to the incident is awaited. In a similar incident yesterday, at least one person was killed while around 20 passengers were seriously injured when two buses collided head-on at Dudupalli Chak on the Subarnapur-Sambalpur National Highway. The road accident reportedly occurred when a passenger bus named Chakdola going from Sambalpur collided with another passenger bus named Karishma coming from Sonpur from the opposite direction at Dudupalli Chak. The deceased person is said to be a driver, while the other driver is undergoing treatment in a critical condition. On receiving information, a team of police and fire service personnel reached the spot and conducted a rescue operation with the help of local residents and admitted the injured persons to Subarnapur District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
