Attack on policemen, three drug addict youth arrested

Rajnandgaon. A case of assault on a traffic inspector and soldiers has come to light during checking of vehicles on Chowpatty mode in Basantpur police station area. The accused even tore the uniform of a soldier. Police have arrested 3 accused in this case.

Actually, the incident happened at 8.30 pm on Thursday night. The accused attacked the police after they protested against the challan action after they found violation of rules. Police said that traffic inspector Ajay Khes along with the soldiers was checking the vehicles by setting up a point near Chowpatty turn. Then three youths arrived there on bike number BR 02 Y 9755.

The police stopped him after three rides. The young man named Naveen Sharma, who was riding the bike, was also examined with a breath analyzer. Investigation confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol. After this, the police prepared the Panchnama and issued a challan, but Naveen refused to sign the Panchnama. When the police applied pressure for this, Naveen and his associates Ramkilkar Rai and Mukesh Singh started fighting with Inspector Ajay Khes. The uniform of another soldier present at the spot was torn. The police have arrested Naveen along with his two associates and sent them to jail on judicial remand on charges of assaulting the police, abusing them and creating obstruction in government work.
