Attempt to murder councillor’s husband, accused attacked with rod

Raigarh: Two people attacked BJP councillor’s husband of ward number-30 in Raigarh with an iron rod. He has 11 stitches on his head. At night Muktinath Prasad (42) had gone to drop an acquaintance home in Indira Nagar. At that time Shreyansh Thackeray and Rupesh Khare, who live there, were quarrelling with each other near the gate of Siddi Vinayak Colony.

When Muktinath tried to reason with them and started going back home, the two youths called him and abused them and attacked him on the head with an iron rod. Muktinath suffered serious head injuries. After the incident, he was taken to the hospital. On receiving information about the case, the police have registered a crime. The case is from Kotwali police station area.

In this case, the councillor’s husband and the ward residents blocked the road in front of the Kotwali in the morning demanding the arrest of the accused. They sat on the main road and raised slogans against the police. After which the city Superintendent of Police and other police personnel reached the spot and counselled them. Then the matter calmed down.
