Baby elephant dies, body found in Lormi forest
Lormi. A case of death of a baby elephant cub under suspicious circumstances has come to light in Tingipur area under Lormi forest range. It is being speculated that the baby elephant died after coming in contact with the electric wire laid in the forest area for hunting wild animals.
The incident is from Parsapara Yadav village of Tingipur area, if eyewitnesses are to be believed, the dead body of the baby elephant is about 2 to 3 days old. Injury marks are visible on the neck and leg of the elephant. Here, this incident has created a stir in the forest department.
On the information of the villagers, a team of doctors along with responsible officers and employees of Mungeli and Bilaspur forest divisions including ATR have reached the spot and started taking action. It will be clear from the post-mortem report how the male elephant died.
