Ban on construction of Supela railway underbridge
Durg: The construction of the Supela railway underbridge on the most important road connecting Bhilai township and the city has come to a standstill. People will now have to wait longer for this construction. The construction work will start only after the decision from the High Court.
The construction of railway underbridge started in August 2022 on the way from Ghadi Chowk to Akash Ganga railway crossing. It was to be completed by the end of the year 2023. Due to this, its construction was being done very fast. After the construction of the bridge, the work of digging the approach road towards Supela is yet to be done. A readymade clothes shop of Akash Ganga, situated right next to the railway crossing, is coming under the purview of this approach road. The railway contractor was about to break it, but before that the shop operator has taken a stay on it by going to the High Court.
It is being told that the shop operator has demanded compensation from the Railways, while the Railways has flatly refused to give compensation. After this, the corporation talked about giving compensation, but the shop operator is not liking the amount of compensation that the corporation is giving. Because of this he has gone to the High Court. The High Court has banned the demolition of the shop till the matter is heard.
