Bangladesh’s first green fertilizer plant opened in collaboration with a Chinese company
Beijing. Recently, the Kulshao-Brash fertilizer plant in Bangladesh, which was built with the participation of a Chinese enterprise, held its project inauguration ceremony. The plant marks Bangladesh’s first green fertilizer facility that effectively recycles carbon dioxide.
During the inauguration ceremony, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the project was a collaborative effort between China Chemical Engineering No. 7 Construction Company Limited and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
With the completion of this project, urea production in the country is expected to increase by 10%, which will reduce the need for fertilizer imports and create additional employment opportunities.
Yi Bingyin, general manager of China Chemical Engineering No. 7 Construction Co., Ltd., said in an interview with Chinese news agency Xinhua that the project faced many challenges and difficulties during its construction. However, through close collaboration with partners, these obstacles were successfully overcome, leading to strong and lasting relationships. Once the project is fully operational, it is expected to contribute significantly to local agricultural and economic development.
