Bear attack on villagers who reached the farm, one died
Mahasamund: A group of bears attacked two villagers who had gone to see the fields in Teka village of Pithora forest range of the district. Due to the noise of the villagers present nearby, the bears ran away from the spot. One died in the bear attack, while the other was badly injured. After first aid, the injured person has been referred to the district hospital. Where his treatment continues.
According to the information, two persons had gone to see the field adjacent to the hilly forest in Teka village of Pithora forest range. Then a group of bears attacked both the villagers. In the attack, one person, Raj Kumar Bhoi, aged 43 years, resident of Teka, was killed and Baisakhu Bariha, aged 42 years, resident of Teeka, was seriously injured. People working in the nearby fields raised an alarm due to which the bears ran away from the spot. With the help of 108, both were brought to Community Health Center Pithora. Where the injured person has been referred to the district hospital after first aid. According to eyewitnesses, a bear and two cubs have attacked the villagers. In the incident, the Forest Department has given financial assistance of Rs 1000 to the injured and Rs 25 thousand to the family of the deceased.
