Bear gets admission in Karnataka school, feasts on food items
Hennur: Soon after the forest department rescued a bear that had attacked a vehicle and eaten food items in Ajjipura village of Hennur taluk in Chamarajanagar district, another incident has taken place in which a bear broke the door of a school and created a ruckus inside. Made it stand. It was reported in Martalli of the same taluk on Thursday night.
The incident came to light at St. Antony’s High School in Sandanapalya near Martalli on Friday morning.
The bear not only ate the food kept in the cupboard but also damaged the furniture.
At midnight the bear entered the school and opened the door of the teacher’s room. He broke cupboard doors and ate cooking oil, jaggery and other products.
It is captured by closed circuit television cameras installed in school facilities.
When Principal Lewis Nason arrived at the school on Friday morning, he found the door to the teacher’s lounge damaged. When he went inside, he saw that books and food were scattered here and there.
Upon reviewing CCTV footage they discovered it was the work of a bear. He immediately informed the forest department, which rushed to the spot.
It is noteworthy that last week, a bear which was creating trouble in Ajjipura village of the taluka was rescued by the forest department two days ago and released in the forest.
