Bears camp in the streets, Ranger said – Do not put food outside the house

Kanker. These days the terror of bears continues in Kanker city. Bears are reaching the residential areas every day. People are in panic due to the arrival of bears. In view of this, the Forest Department team is now monitoring the identified areas at night. But the main reason for bears entering the city is food and water. Which the department is ignoring.

The same Kanker Ranger says that the departmental team is continuously patrolling in the night. Marked places are also being monitored. Pamphlets are being pasted to give immediate information to people on sighting or reaching bears and other wild animals. Along with this, an appeal is also being made to the people that people should not put the food left over at night outside the house, due to which the bear will not reach that area.

Let us tell you that in 2014-2015, the forest department had made a bear movement and residence area in 30 thousand hectares of land in Kanker Nagar. Which was built on the hills of Shivnagar-Thelkabod of Kanker. Which was named Jamwant Project. Under this project, fruit trees like guava, ber, jamun were to be planted. The Forest Department planted fruit trees, but none became capable of bearing fruit. Due to which now wild bears have to come towards the city for food. Due to the arrival of bears in the residential areas, there is often an atmosphere of panic among the people.
