Beer and liquor seized from car, two arrested while supplying
Mahasamund. Two accused have been arrested for smuggling beer and English liquor. According to the information, the police received information from the informer that liquor was being transported illegally in I20 car number CG 04 NW 8552. On information, the team of Cyber Cell and Thana Singhoda stopped the I20 car number CG 04 NW 8552 by blockade near Interstate Check Post Rehtikhol. Two persons were traveling in the vehicle. On inquiry from whom he told himself to be 1. Abel Khakha father Nicholas age 56 years, 2. Suresh Tirkey father Yeodar Tirkey age 46 years Sakinan Shaildranagar Raipur. When inquired about what was kept in the vehicle, they gave evasive answers, after strictly questioning and searching the car (01)- 48 nos. Can beer in two cartons (02)- 02 nos. On receipt, documents were asked regarding keeping and transporting the said liquor, on which no documents were said to be license.
Both the persons were caught smuggling illegal liquor. Since the act of the accused was found to be an offense under section 34(2) of the Excise Act, action has been taken against them under section 34(2) of the Excise Act at police station Singhoda.
