New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said on Wednesday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is not a candidate for the post of Prime Minister. He stressed that his statement should be considered the official statement of the party.

Responding to AAP chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar’s comments on Arvind Kejriwal becoming Prime Minister, Atishi said these were her personal comments and not the official stand of the party. He said that Kejriwal is not in the race for PM. AAP party is part of ‘India’ alliance because they want to save the country. There is a need to save the country as well as the Constitution.

Earlier, Priyanka Kakkar had said that she wants to see Kejriwal as the next PM. Speaking to IANS, Priyanka Kakkar had said that she wants Arvind Kejriwal to become the leader of the alliance as he is constantly fighting for the welfare of the country. Priyanka Kakkar mentioned that speaking as the party spokesperson, I will nominate Arvind Kejriwal for the post of Prime Minister. He has consistently supported the concerns of the people and implemented a model which has resulted in minimal inflation in Delhi.
