Benedict Cumberbatch hints at Doctor Strange return next year
Washington. Hollywood star Benedict Cumberbatch recently hinted at his return as Doctor Strange in a new MCU film next year. “There are some Marvel capers happening next year,” Cumberbatch said as a guest on the JW3 speaker series, according to US-based media outlet Deadline. According to Deadline, it’s unclear whether Cumberbatch was referring to a standalone Doctor Strange sequel or an appearance in another MCU film like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which was recently delayed. The actor first appeared as Dr. Stephen Strange in the 2016 film ‘Doctor Strange’, after which he went on to appear in films like ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘Spider-Man: No Way’ Also appeared in films. Home’, and in ‘Daughter Strange: Multiverse of Madness’. A post-credits scene hinted at a possible future for Doctor Strange in ‘Multiverse of Madness’. At one point, Charlize Theron, who plays Clea, tells Doctor Strange that “she’s intruded, and we’re going to fix it.” According to Deadline, Strange replied, “Absolutely not.” ‘Multiverse of Madness’ writer Michael Waldron teased a bit about Strange’s future in an interview with Gizmodo, saying, “We knew we wanted to introduce Clea. She’s a huge love interest of Strange’s in the comics and I felt like Strange was at the beginning of our movie where he was ready to meet the love of his life. It felt like we had to close the loop with him and Christine Palmer.
