Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee can meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Raj Bhavan
West Bengal: An official said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday evening.
Modi will be on a two-day visit to the state from Friday, during which he will address two public rallies in Hooghly and Nadia districts and inaugurate several government projects.
He will stay at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Friday night.
A Raj Bhavan official said, “Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to come to Raj Bhavan this evening to meet the Prime Minister. This meeting is as per protocol. But the timing of the meeting is not known yet.”

Earlier in December last year, Banerjee had met PM Modi in New Delhi to press for the release of state dues.
According to TMC, West Bengal owes Rs 1.18 lakh crore to the Centre.
The West Bengal government on Monday began payment of Rs 2,700 crore pending from March 2022 to about 30 lakh MNREGA workers.
West Bengal’s withholding of MNREGA dues by the Center has been the focal point of political discussion in the state for the last one year.
