Bharat Rang Mahotsav theater festival begins at Tagore Hall
National School of Drama (NSD) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy launched Bharat Rang Mahotsav International Theater Festival at Tagore Hall today.

Many guests and dignitaries from the cultural field were present at the inauguration ceremony.
NSD Society member and Film Censor Board member Vani Tripathi, who attended the program as the chief guest, enhanced the dignity of the occasion.
He was also accompanied by Dr. Hina Bhatt, Chairperson of Khadi Village Board Jammu and Kashmir, famous folk artist Mohiuddin Azim and senior officer of the Cultural Academy, Mufti Shafiqur Rehman. NSD Registrar Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, who was also present, stressed the importance of the celebration.
The ceremony included the traditional honoring of guests with shawls as a symbol of warmth and respect.
Attendees were eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the festival’s first day’s performance, “Agnitriya”, directed by Sangeeta Tiple.
The presentation enthralled the diverse audience of theater enthusiasts, reflecting the wide appeal of the Festival.
Renowned broadcaster Azhar Hajni played an important role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.

It is noteworthy that the theme of this year’s event revolves around the country’s G20 Chairman Vasudev Kutumbakam and Vande Bharangam, an inspiring appeal for artistic and dramatic integration across the world.
Organizers said that through the performing arts, the festival aims to bring together multiple cultures and celebrate social peace while providing an extremely exhilarating experience.
Theater goers will watch the Kashmiri play “Armin Pather” directed by Shah-e-Jahan Ahmed Bhagat on Saturday, followed by writer-director Sachin Malvi’s Hindi play “Sifar” on Sunday.
Bhaskar Mukherjee’s Bengali play “Fele Asa Megahertz” will be performed on Monday. Writer Nicola Piazzolla’s English-language play “The Global City” will close the festival on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Dr. Hina Bhatt highlighted the importance of this event in Srinagar indicating the changed situation in Jammu and Kashmir. “Earlier, artistes did not get a platform to showcase their talent. This incident symbolizes the change that Kashmir is witnessing,” she said.
