Bhubaneswar Pradhan selected to play ‘Kansa’ during Bargarh Dhanu Jatra
Bargarh: Bhubaneswar Pradhan of Sarala village has been selected yet again to play the role of King ‘Kansa’ during the upcoming world famous Bargarh Dhanu Jatra.
It is to be noted here that the organizers of Dhanu Jatra decided to select a new artist to play the famous role of King ‘Kansa’ after dropping Hrusikesh Bhoi, who played the role last year. They called for an audition of the artistes who had secured second to fifth position in the 2022 auditions.
The artistes who were called for the audition are Artatrana Sunani, Jagadananda Mishra, Bhubaneswar Pradhan and Sushil Meher. However, Bhubaneswar Pradhan was selected among them today. This is the second time that he has been selected the vital role of the annual event. He had played the role of Kansa in 2017.
It is to be noted here that the famous Bargarh Dhanu Jatra is scheduled to begin on January 3 and will continue till January 13, 2025.
