Big action against liquor sellers, Excise department raided

Mahasamund: Under the direction of Collector Prabhat Malik, the Excise Department of the district has conducted an intensive search operation and from the date of implementation of Model Code of Conduct till October 20, a total of 773 liters of liquor, 2000 kg of Mahua Lahan and 01 motorcycle have been seized, the total value of which is Rs 3,23,080. Is.

On October 20, when the Excise team, on the basis of informer’s information, searched the hut built in village Sharifabad forest area and its surroundings, hand kiln Mahua liquor – 560 liters and Mahua Lahan – 2000 kilograms were kept inside plastic sacks in polythene bags. When recovered, it was seized and a case has been registered and the accused is being traced. Action was taken against the accused under sections 34(1)(a), 34(2), 36(1)(f), 59(a) of the Excise Act. The entire operation was done by circle incharge Anil Jharia under the guidance of Assistant District Excise Officer Nidhish Koshti and Uttam Buddha Bhardwaj, in which Excise Sub Inspector Vikas Badhendra and staff played a commendable role.
