The activities of Saurabh Chandrakar, a promoter of Mahadev App, a resident of Durg, Chhattisgarh, living in Dubai, have been banned. On the other hand, Bhilai Police has arrested the app’s mastermind Deepak Nepali on Tuesday. Recently, Dubai Police had arrested Ravi Uppal in the Mahadev Satta App case. It is being told that he is the promoter of Mahadev Satta App along with Saurabh Chandrakar. ED had issued a Red Corner Notice against Saurabh Chandrakar. Properties worth more than Rs 100 crore of Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal have been identified in Dubai.
Deepak Nepali, caught from Vaishali Nagar of Durg, was absconding for the last one year in the robbery and kidnapping case. NSA (National Security Act) was also imposed on him. Deepak Nepali was in direct contact with Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal sitting in Dubai. He was running the panel in different states on his own strength. Deepak Nepali is a professional goon, but calls himself a BJP leader. He roams around in a car with BJP symbol painted on it. His brother Lokesh Nepali has gone to jail several times on charges of online betting. When this rumor spread, BJP leaders put pressure on the police and arrests were made.
Many cases including assault, robbery, dacoity and kidnapping are registered against Deepak Nepali in many police stations of Durg district. Along with this, he is also accused of smuggling ganja and liquor. Even a year ago, he was arrested by Durg police, but came out on bail. After finding out the involvement of Durg police in the online betting case, the then Durg SP Dr. Abhishek Pallav had ordered an investigation. Three IPS officers investigated it and found out that Deepak was involved in crimes ranging from Nepalese to online betting.
In this, some constables and officers of Durg police are also with him. During the investigation, the involvement of 17 policemen with Deepak was revealed and horoscopes of 12 policemen were being calculated through mobile phones. Later this file was closed with the transfer of SP. After the facts revealed in the investigation by ED, the officials themselves have said that Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal created an empire for themselves in UAE. In February 2023, Saurabh Chandrakar got married in Dubai and for this wedding ceremony, he spent around Rs 200 crore in cash. Private jets were hired to transport the family.
Celebrities were invited to perform at the wedding. Wedding planner, dancer, decorator were hired from Mumbai. The money was given to them using Hawala channels. Rs 112 crore was transferred through hawala to an event management company in the name of R-1 Events Private Limited, a company of a person named Yogesh Popat, and hotel bookings worth Rs 42 crore were made. Mahadev Betting App is an app designed for online betting. On this, users used to play live games named Poker, Card Games, Chance Games. Illegal betting was also done in sports like cricket, badminton, tennis, football and elections through the app. The network of this app spread rapidly through the betting network. Maximum accounts were opened in Chhattisgarh. A complete blueprint for fraud was created with this app.
