Araria Lok Sabha seat came into existence in 1967 but it was not held by any single party. The honorable members of Parliament have been changing all the time. Even in 2014, when there was a Modi wave in the country, BJP could not win here and RJD got victory, whereas in 2019, RJD was defeated and BJP’s Pradeep Kumar Singh got victory. Pradeep Kumar has already been the MP of Araria.

NDA-INDIA on par in assembly elections
There are total 6 assembly seats in Araria. Which includes Narpatganj, Raniganj, Farbisganj, Araria, Jokihat and Sikti. Among these, BJP won on Narpatganj, Farbisganj and Sikti assembly seats, while JDU won on Raniganj seat, Congress on Araria seat and RJD won on Jokihat seat. NOTA’s role is also important
Although the public representatives claim all the votes, but the vote-grabbing leaders spoil the game. They try to take vote-grabbing leaders or candidates who are in the race to win the party and prevent them from contesting the elections by any means possible. For this, the candidate who wins all the tricks like Sama, Daam, Dand and Bheed is ready to adopt it. Amidst all this, if the public representatives do not pay attention to anyone, it is NOTA. NOTA has also played a big role in the 2014 general elections, 2018 By Elections and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2014, 16,608 votes were cast in favor of NOTA, in 2018 By Election, 17,607 votes and in 2019, 20,618 votes were cast in favor of NOTA, which were more than the votes received by many parties.
