Bihar gangster Kundan Thakur killed in police encounter
A gangster challenged the police to give him a place and time to encounter him. Later, he was killed in an encounter conducted by the police. The incident took place in Motihari town of Champaran district of Bihar. According to the police, Kundan Thakur is a hardened gangster in this area. He has committed many crimes. Due to this, several cases have been registered against him. Thakur and his gang have been absconding for some time.
Recently, Thakur challenged the police. He sent audio messages warning them. In particular, he issued direct warnings to the Chakia police station officer. He challenged them to tell him the place and time if they dared. He warned that many policemen would lose their lives if they tried to encounter him. “The big news coming is about the encounter. 10 to 15 policemen lost their lives while trying to catch a criminal. I will really show you what a gangster is,” Thakur said in his audio message. He warned that the police were harassing his family and that if they did not stop them, he would also see the end of the policemen’s families.
He said that he was not running away and that he would face any number of policemen in an encounter. He said that this was not a warning, but only an advice. However, the police, who had already been monitoring his movements, received adequate information. After receiving information about the location of Thakur and his followers, a special team surrounded the area. In this process, Thakur’s gang resorted to provocative actions. The police opened fire. In the exchange of fire between the two sides, an STF jawan was seriously injured. He died before being taken to the hospital. Even though their colleague was killed, the police opened fire against Thakur and his gang. In this encounter, along with Kundan Thakur, two other criminals were also killed.
During the incident, the entire area was filled with gunshots. Champaran SP Swarn Prabhat responded to the incident. He said that Thakur had issued several warnings to the police, and in this process, he opened fire when they tried to arrest him. As a result, the accused were killed in the retaliatory fire by the police as part of self-defense measures. Police said that the owner of the house who gave shelter to the accused and his father have been arrested.
