Bijapur police statement on National Park encounter, rewardee and 5 hardcore Maoists killed
Bijapur. Police has issued a statement on the National Park encounter, SP Dr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav told that on 11/01/2025, in the anti-Naxal search operation, DRG Bijapur party left for Bandepara-Koranjed area on the intelligence of the presence of Maoists of National Park Area Committee under Thana Madde area.
During the operation, on 12.01.2025 at around 08:00 am, an encounter started between security forces and Maoists in the jungle hill between village Bandepara-Koranjed, which continued intermittently till 3-4 pm. After the encounter was over, when all the teams searched, the bodies of 02 women and 03 men in uniform, total 05 hardcore Maoists were recovered along with weapons and material. Name and designation of the Naxalites killed in the encounter

Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj P. informed that maintaining the lead gained in the anti-Naxal operation in the year 2024, the year In 2025 also, as a result of effective anti-Naxal operations conducted by the security forces under Bastar division against the banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization, the bodies of a total of 13 hardcore Maoists were recovered in the recent days. Despite all the conspiracies and cowardly acts of the Maoists, the security force members are dedicatedly working for the peace, security and development of the Bastar region with strong morale and clear goal.
