New Delhi: Revenue collected by Bitcoin miners in the form of transaction fees averaged nearly $2 million per day in 2023, registering a massive 400 percent increase year-on-year.
According to Jameson Lopes, co-founder of Bitcoin self-custody platform Casa, Bitcoin miners are set to earn more than $10 billion in 2023.
“Bitcoin miners will earn more than $10 billion in 2023, a significant addition to the total of $57 billion over the past 15 years. This number assumes they immediately sell for fiat, which is definitely not the case,” he posted on X.
Bitcoin miners earned more than $44 million in block rewards, even as mining difficulty increased by 3.55 percent to an all-time high, Crypto.news reports.
Messari, a leading provider of crypto market intelligence products, posted that BTC miners attracted significant venture capital investment in November.
“Crypto fundraising last month was led by BTC miners, with Northern Data and Phoenix Group raising $600 million and $370 million respectively.
“Excluding those deals, the rest of the crypto venture market traded $750 million on 98 deals,” Messari wrote on X.
This development has prompted market watchers to make predictions about the price of Bitcoin in 2024, with some claiming it could reach $160,000.
Bitcoin has seen a 160 percent surge this year, adding about $530 billion to its market capitalization.
According to an analysis by BanklessTimes.com, the Solana digital coin market has surged 627 percent since January 2023, a new annual high for any cryptocurrency.
