BJP leader’s murdered wife and lover arrested

Kanpur: Kanpur police have arrested a woman and her alleged lover involved in the murder of her husband, who was also a BJP leader.

According to the police, on November 24, BJP’s Govind Nagar Group President Mukesh Narang was strangled to death by his wife Divya and her alleged lover Sanjay Pal.

Mukesh Narang, resident of Govind Nagar, was married to Divya of Kaushambi about two years ago. This was Mukesh’s second marriage. Earlier, he was married to a young Babita from Dada Nagar, whom he later divorced.

He was found dead in his house on the night of 24 November. They found sulfa pastilles next to his body. At the time of the accident, Mukesh’s wife Divya had gone to meet her sister-in-law who lived nearby.

The autopsy revealed that Narang died due to poison and war marks were also found on his neck. The police initially considered it a suicide, but later when Mukesh’s friends suspected murder, they started investigation. Divya’s chat with another person had gone viral.

Later during investigation it was found that he had talked to a person named Sanjay Pal living in Kaushambi. Then with the help of electronic surveillance, the police caught both of them and solved the case.

Sanjay Pal was Divya’s neighbor and had a love affair with her. Even after marriage, Divya kept in touch with him.

ADCP Ankita Sharma said that when Mukesh confessed his love story, Divya planned to kill him.
