BJP MLA will install statue of Rajiv Gandhi in Ranchi
Ranchi (IANS). Bhanu Pratap Shahi, a BJP MLA from Jharkhand, will install a statue of late Congress leader and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at a park in Ranchi. Preparations have been made for this.
The life size statue of Rajiv Gandhi is also ready. It was the wish of Hemant Pratap Shahi Dehati, the late father of the BJP MLA and former health minister of the state, that a statue of the former prime minister be installed at Rajin Gandhi Udyan, located in the HEC area of Ranchi. He was deeply impressed by the work done by Rajiv Gandhi when he was the Prime Minister.
MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi said that his father had got the statue of Rajiv Gandhi constructed during his lifetime, but he died before it could be installed.
According to Shahi, talks have been held with the Congress minister regarding the installation of the statue. His wish is that Rajiv Gandhi’s statue should be installed after fixing a date with everyone’s consent.
Bhanu Pratap Shahi, known to be an outspoken legislator of the BJP, represents the Bhavnathpur constituency of the state. He also registers protest against the policies of the Congress from Vidhan Sabha to the road.
He says that political ideology has its place. His father was also actively involved in the politics of principles throughout his life, but rose above the party and gave respect to the leaders of many political parties. There is no objection in setting up a statue of Rajiv Gandhi to fulfill his dream.
