BJP-NCP criticized Sanjay Raut
Nashik: After Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut raised questions over BJP’s victory in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Anil Bhaidas Patil on Tuesday reacted saying that people The mandate given. Respect Raut.
Earlier on Monday, Raut had said that he welcomes the mandate but there are still doubts in the minds of the people and to remove these doubts, elections should be conducted once through ballot paper. This statement of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader has come after the defeat of Congress by BJP in the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
Responding to Raut’s statement, Anil Bhaidas Patil said, “Once someone loses, that person should show some respect towards the mandate given by the people. Sanjay Raut has no other work. I would like to say that they should go to the grassroots level and see what work the PM has done.”
Patil further targeted Raut and other opposition parties and said that their grievance will remain in every election, there is a problem in the election process and elections should be conducted on ballot paper.
“If he (Sanjay Raut) focuses more on what is the public demand and what people want, he will be in a better position in the elections,” Patil said.
Earlier, Congress’s Digvijay Singh once again questioned the authenticity of the claim of EVMs being hacked.
“Any machine with a chip can be hacked. I have opposed voting by EVM since 2003. Can we allow our Indian democracy to be controlled by professional hackers? This is the fundamental question that all political parties have to address. Honorable ECI and Honorable Supreme Court, will you please protect our Indian democracy?” Digvijay Singh claimed.
However, BJP has hit back at Congress saying that Congress is only looking for excuses for its defeat in the Hindi belt and the same EVMs have ensured Congress’ victory in Telangana.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, “This is nothing new. They raise questions (on EVMs) only when they lose the elections. Why did he not raise questions on EVMs during Himachal Pradesh elections or Telangana elections? When they win everything is fine.” When they lose they raise questions on EVMs…”
Counting for assembly elections in four states – Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh – concluded on December 3, with the BJP winning a majority of seats in the three north Indian states.
While in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh the BJP defeated the incumbent Congress governments, in Madhya Pradesh it defeated the anti-incumbency wave to retain power.
However, in the south Indian state of Telangana, Congress took solace and emerged victorious, ousting the decade-old BRS regime.
Despite the alleged anti-incumbency wave in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP won 163 seats in the state. Congress won 66 seats in the state.
In Rajasthan, the BJP won 115 out of 199 seats, clearly ousting the incumbent Ashok Gehlot government. Congress won 69 seats.
In the Chhattisgarh elections, although most exit polls had predicted that the Congress would retain the government, the results turned out otherwise. According to ECI, BJP won 54 out of 90 seats. Congress won 35 seats in the state.
Congress dethroned the existing BRS in Telangana. Congress won 64 seats in the 119-member assembly. BRS won 39 seats and BJP won 8 seats.
