Raipur. While discussing with journalists at Rajiv Bhawan, senior Congress leader and political advisor to the Chief Minister Vinod Verma said that Chhattisgarh Police started the investigation of Mahadev App.
So far, 72 cases have been registered and 449 people have been arrested. 191 laptops, 865 mobile phones and property worth more than Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 16 crore in bank accounts have been seized. On the basis of the cases registered in Chhattisgarh, the Repatriation Directorate i.e. ED started the investigation. Cyber Cell of Raipur Police had written a letter to Google on 12 October 2022 saying that Mahadev App is available in Google Play Store, since gambling is a crime in India and gambling is being facilitated through this app, this app should be closed.
This should be done and the names of those who created and run this app should be told to the police. After this letter, Google removed Mahadev App from Google Play Store.
After investigation, Chhattisgarh Police itself found that the operators of Mahadev App are Ravi Uppal and Saurabh Chandrakar. After this the police issued a look out notice against both of them.
Since then, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has been continuously saying that these criminals should be arrested by the Central Government because they do not live in this country and it is not within the jurisdiction of Chhattisgarh Police to arrest any criminal from any other country. Bring it.
He also repeatedly demanded a ban on Mahadev App.
He had expressed apprehension that the app is not being banned because the operators are in nexus with the people of BJP.
Finally, three days ago the central government claimed to close the Mahadev app. But the interesting and surprising thing is that on the same evening a news channel showed that the talk of ban is useless because the app is running normally and the betting game is continuing uninterrupted.
It is clear that perhaps it is not within the power of the Modi government at the Center to stop the Mahadev App. Or she does not want this to be stopped.
Because the central government is busy earning money by imposing GST on betting.
