BJP’s Parthasarathy on mission to ‘save Adoni’ in Andhra Pradesh
Dr. PV Parthasarathy, a dentist by profession and BJP candidate from Adoni assembly constituency, is on a mission to ‘save Adoni’. He has been a prominent worker of the BJP and has held several positions for the last one and a half decade. Presently he is also the National Secretary of BJP OBC Morcha. Let us tell you that BJP is contesting the elections in the state in alliance with TDP and JSP. Accusing the sitting MLA and his rival Y Sai Prasad Reddy of indulging in corrupt practices, Parthasarathy said there was a need to save the people of Adoni from ‘Hitler’s rule’. In an interview with Madhu Sudhakar, the BJP candidate alleged that disturbance was rampant in the constituency.
What are the major problems facing the people of Adoni?
There are 42 municipal wards in Adoni urban and the same number of villages in Adoni mandal. There is a serious shortage of water for both drinking and irrigation purposes. This constituency is facing traffic problems. There is lack of proper drainage system in urban areas and unavailability of employment opportunities has led to migration.
How do you plan to deal with these problems?
I have drawn up an agenda to develop Adoni and turn it into a model constituency. We will encourage businesses because there are abundant resources in this area. Adoni is known as the second Mumbai due to business activity.
It has major railway routes and junctions. We will set up industries to create employment opportunities for local people and strengthen cotton traders by solving farmers’ issues.
Irrigation projects will be completed and a low-level canal will be used to receive the state’s share of water from Karnataka.
We will ensure irrigation water for farmers in drought affected areas. This will also curb the migration of workers.
How confident are you about your victory?
There is no doubt that I will win with an overwhelming majority. People are fed up with the corrupt practices and large-scale disturbances of the present government. The vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan will help me win the elections. People have seen my honesty and commitment during my election campaign.
