Blackmailed by making obscene video, victim commits suicide

Karnataka: A 17-year-old girl committed suicide after being blackmailed by two boys over a private video in Jagaluru in Karnataka’s Davangere district. The victim was a college student studying in PUC. He sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire. The incident took place on August 28 and he died in the hospital on Wednesday. Police said that both the accused boys befriended her while going to college. The accused gave her food and when she fainted, they captured her obscene video in mobile.

Later, both of them continued to threaten him to make the video viral. The girl’s parents had also complained to the police. The accused would come to his house and ask the victim to accompany him. Distressed by the harassment, the girl committed suicide. Before dying, the girl recorded a video statement at the hospital, in which she said that such injustice should not be done to any other girl like her.

He also urged the police to take strict action against the culprits. The girl in the video said that this should be a lesson for all evil minded people. The video of the victim girl pleading for justice with tears is going viral on social media. Jagaluru Police has registered a case under POCSO. Police said that the investigation of the case is going on.
