Body of 74-year-old Polish pilot taken out with the help of army
Dharmshala.. The body of 74-year-old Andre Kulawik, a Polish paraglider who went missing in the high hills of Dhauladhar after paragliding from Bir-Billing, was brought back with the help of the army on Thursday after 10 days. The body was removed with great difficulty from the dangerous area near the mountain. The body has been brought to Dharamshala.
Andre Kulavik left Baijnath ki Beed in Kangra district on private solo flying on October 23 and went missing in the Dhauladhar hills. Three other companions flying with him were rescued with the help of a chopper, but no trace of Andre Kulavik could be found.
When his daughter revealed this through her social media handle, the police took precautions and started searching for Andre. Efforts to retrieve the body failed for several days. In such a situation, the help of a special contingent of the Indian Army was taken, whose base camp was built in Khadauta. From there, three NDRF and five Army members crossed a very dangerous track of about 4 kilometers and airlifted the body.
