Bombay High Court issues split verdict on petitions challenging amendments to IT Act

Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Wednesday gave a divided verdict on the petitions challenging the amendment in the IT Act. Justice Gautam Patel ruled in favor of the petitioners, while Justice Neela Gokhale ruled against it.

The case has been referred to Chief Justice DK Upadhyay, who will assign the matter to a third judge for further consideration. Moreover, the Centre’s statement of not informing the Fact Check Unit will continue for the next 10 days.
