Brainstorming on preparing future scientists in Sundernagar
Sundernagar. Chandigarh University in collaboration with DST organized a special outreach program to promote STEM exams in Sundernagar. It aims to prepare India’s future scientists, and will be supported by the Department of Science and Technology.
Chandigarh University’s Science Outreach Program will give a new direction to STEM exams, with Dr Prem Singh, Head of the Department of Science and Technology, organizing events to encourage students to take up STEM subjects. Inspire program will also be organized in Sundernagar to encourage students towards STEM subjects. This is the first step in the series, and through this, an effort is being made to increase students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects and motivate them for their careers.
In this event, Dr. Prem Singh, National Awardee and Chief Scientist of DST Department of National Science and Technology Committee ASTCA, Government of India participated and guided the students. Around 411 students participated in this program and it was the first Inspire program organized in Sundernagar.
During the program, Dr. Prem Singh said that global change is a continuous process and it is our responsibility to encourage the development of skills in the 21st century.
Along with this, among the models made by the children of schools of Sundernagar, the first prize of Rs. 15 thousand was given to Mahaveer Public School, Sundernagar, the second prize of Rs. 10 thousand was given to BSL Model School, Sundernagar and the Chief Minister gave an amount of Rs. 5 thousand to the children of Paradise Public School, Sundernagar, who stood third.
