Brother, angered by sister’s love marriage, kills her; commits the murder with the help of a friend
Muzaffarpur. A sensational incident that puts relations to shame has come to light from Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. Here a young man allegedly murdered his own sister because she had a love marriage against the wishes of the family. Police have claimed to have solved the mystery of the body of 25-year-old Renu Kumari, who was found in the bushes on October 7 near Damodarpur Railway Gumti in Kanti police station area. Police have arrested the deceased’s brother Manish Kumar in this murder case. According to the police, the accused, along with one of his friends, strangled the sister to death with a scarf and threw the body in the bushes to hide the evidence. During interrogation, the accused admitted his involvement in the crime. Police have also seized a bike used in the incident.

Initially the deceased could not be identified. The police took possession of the body and started necessary legal action. After this the body was sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH).
On the third day of the incident, the deceased’s father Harendra Rai reached the hospital and identified the body as that of his daughter Renu Kumari. After this, he filed an application in Kanti police station and expressed the fear of murder of his daughter.
Based on the father’s complaint, the police registered a case and started investigation.

According to the information, Renu Kumari had married a young man named Prince, a resident of Rampurhari, of her own free will about nine months ago. Some members of his family were angry with this marriage.
It has been told that there was tension in the family since the love marriage. There were many disputes regarding marriage and it even led to fighting.
The family members tried to pacify Manish by convincing him, but he remained unhappy about his sister’s marriage.
According to the police, after the marriage Renu had also made a video public. The accused brother did not like this. The police are investigating this resentment as the main reason for the murder.
Allegation of murder by strangulation with scarf
According to the information revealed during police interrogation, accused Manish along with one of his friends had planned to murder his sister.
Police say that the accused, with the help of his friend, took Renu’s life by tying a dupatta around her neck. After the murder, the duo allegedly threw the body in the bushes near Damodarpur Railway Gumti.
The aim of the accused is said to be to avoid police investigation by hiding the dead body.
According to the police, during interrogation, Manish confessed to his involvement in the murder. However, the alleged confession given to the police does not in itself amount to conviction by the court. The final decision in the case will be based on evidence and judicial process.
Police reached the accused through CCTV and technical investigation
According to Rural SP Rajesh Kumar Singh Prabhakar, a special police team was formed after the girl’s body was identified and a case of murder was registered.
The investigation team examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site. Apart from this, technical evidence was also analyzed.
During the investigation, the police found such clues, on the basis of which the role of the deceased’s brother Manish Kumar was found suspicious. After this he was arrested and interrogated.
Police claim that during interrogation, Manish confessed to committing the murder along with his friend. A bike used in the case has also been seized.
Accused brother sent to jail, search for friend continues
The police have sent the arrested accused Manish Kumar to jail in judicial custody. At the same time, his friend who is said to be involved in the murder is yet to be arrested.
Police are conducting raids in search of the absconding accused. After his arrest, information about the alleged roles of both the accused in the incident and other aspects related to the murder may come to light.
Police are collecting the available evidence in this case and taking further legal action.
