Bulldozer runs on illegal colony in Faridabad, major action by DTP enforcement

Faridabad: The administration’s campaign against illegal colonies continues in Haryana’s Faridabad district. In this series, on Friday, the District Town Planner (DTP) Enforcement team took major action against an illegal colony being developed in the revenue limits of village Khedi Khurd and demolished many illegal constructions. During the operation, under construction structures and other illegal structures were demolished with the help of JCB machines. During this time, some local people also protested against the action, but the police and administrative officials calmed down the situation by convincing them.

According to the administration, information about development of a colony in village Khedi Khurd area without valid permission and necessary approvals was being received for a long time. During investigation, it was found that plotting and construction work was being done in the concerned area without obtaining approval as per rules. After this, District Town Planner (DTP) Enforcement decided to take action as per rules.

On Friday morning, DTP Enforcement team reached the spot with heavy police force. Necessary resources including JCB machines had been arranged in advance for the action. The officials first inspected the area and then started the process of removing the illegal constructions. JCB machines demolished the under construction structures and other illegal structures one by one.

Some local people protested during the action. He said that he was not given enough time and his problems should also be considered. However, the police officers and administrative team present on the spot talked to the people and informed them about the legal process of action. Officials explained that this action is being taken as per the prescribed rules and law. After this the situation became normal and the operation was completed without any major hindrance.

DTP Enforcement officials said that cases of development of illegal colonies in urban areas and surrounding revenue limits are being continuously monitored. At places where plotting and construction is being done without license or departmental approval, action will be taken as per rules. He said that illegal colonies not only affect urban planning but also create difficulties in providing basic facilities in future.

The officials also appealed to the common citizens to thoroughly check the validity of any plot or plot before purchasing it. Make sure from the concerned department whether the colony has the necessary approval or not. People may have to suffer financial losses in future by investing in unapproved colonies.

The administration says that the objective of action on illegal colonies is not only to remove construction, but also to stop unplanned urban development and ensure development as per rules. For this, inspection campaigns are being conducted from time to time in various areas and legal action is being taken against those who violate the rules.

Adequate deployment of police force was made during the operation so that any untoward situation could be avoided. Police officials maintained law and order during the entire operation and controlled the situation by peacefully pacifying the protesting people. No violent incident or major disorder was reported.

Faridabad administration has indicated that the campaign against illegal colonies and unauthorized constructions in the district will continue. In areas where rules are found violated, action will be taken without any discrimination. Officials clarified that necessary steps will be taken as per law against those doing illegal construction and such campaigns will be conducted regularly in future also.

The administration believes that it is extremely important to follow the rules related to building construction and colony development for planned urban development. With this, roads, electricity, water, sewer and other basic facilities can be systematically provided to the citizens. For this purpose, the campaign against illegal colonies will be continued.

At present, after this action taken in village Khedi Khurd, the administration has increased surveillance on the area. Officials say that if illegal construction or plotting is attempted again in the future, more strict legal action will be taken against the people concerned.
