Bulldozer runs on illegal tasting centers in Raipur
Raipur : Instructions were received to take action against the operators running tasting shops around 78 different liquor shops, 59 located in the urban areas of the capital and 19 located in the rural areas, and instructions were received to remove the shops. Along with this, most of the tasting shops/carts were operating around the main road.
As soon as the government changed, action to curb illegal trade has started. A bulldozer was run on the Chowpatty adjacent to the boundary of the Girls School near Motibagh, Raipur. In which many people used to drink liquor in the tasting shops and quarrel among themselves, which also caused trouble to the pedestrians passing through that route. Whereas in Bilaspur, near the liquor shops, On Tuesday, the Municipal Corporation team arrived with bulldozers to demolish the illegal tasting centers being operated.
Regarding these actions, Brijmohan Aggarwal said – Along with Raipur, Chhattisgarh should also be crime free. In Bilaspur, with the connivance of Excise Department officials, tasting centers were being operated in the city against the rules. The High Court has also issued a notice to the state government on liquor shops operating near schools, colleges and religious places. Corporation action was taken against the illegally running Chowpatty near the Girls School. A large number of police forces were also present on the spot.
The school management says that complaints were being made for a long time for the removal of this Chowpatty. When no action was taken, the girl students also took out a rally from the school to Chowpatty on Tuesday. The very next day of this demonstration, the corporation staff arrived with a bulldozer. The top officials/employees of the Excise Department and Raipur Police took swift action in such places and closed the tasting shops and carts operating near the liquor shops and removed them.
