Bus strike: 60 percent government buses operated in Kanchipuram
Chennai: 60 percent government buses operated in Kanchipuram on Tuesday and passengers did not face any problem in traveling due to the strike.
As per daily records, 624 buses are operated every day from Kanchipuram to Uthiramerur, Tambaram, Chromepet, Chengalpattu and Maduranthagam.
Some buses were canceled due to the strike on Tuesday, but the authorities managed to run 60 per cent of the buses, due to which regular passengers did not face any problem in travelling.
Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (VPM) Villupuram director said in a release that they are ready to run the buses with the help of trained retired drivers from the army, if needed.
At present, most of the buses are working and they are all well maintained and in good condition. To avoid unnecessary hassles, the buses are being operated with police protection.
